NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Sarah Sears was tabbed an Atlantic 10 Women's Cross Country Co-Performer of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday.
Sears shattered the Davidson 5k program record Friday at the Queen City Invite, stopping the clock in 16:50, the first place finisher. Her victory helped lead the Wildcats to a first place result over the 13-team field. The Arlington, Va., native has set a new personal best time in each of her four races this season.
Sears was previously named the league's Performer of the Week on Sept. 19 for her efforts at the adidas XC Challenge hosted by N.C. State.
Davidson returns to the trails at the A-10 Championship on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Oatlands Plantation. Start time from Leesburg, Va. is slated for 10:50 a.m.
