Football Registers 47 Wildcats on PFL Honor Roll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Davidson football team placed 47 Wildcats on the 2016 Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league Tuesday.
In all, 576 student-athletes were recognized by the PFL from its 11-member institutions. 2016 marked the fourth consecutive year the league eclipsed 550 student-athletes on the honor roll.
Davidson ranked sixth overall with their 47 nods, while Dayton led the league for the second straight year with 79 student-athletes making the cut. Butler (75), Drake (65), Marist (52) and Jacksonville (48) rounded out the top-five programs.
The PFL athletic director and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.
