DAVIDSON, N.C. — Sophomore Justine Lyon hit the 20-point mark for the third time this year and junior Chloe Johnson hit the go-ahead bucket to help lead Davidson to its first Atlantic 10 win of the season with a 58-54 decision over visiting George Mason Wednesday night in women's basketball inside John M. Belk Arena.
Tied at 54-all with 53 seconds left, Johnson drove down the lane with the shot clock running down and hit a layup with 26 ticks left for a 56-54 lead. The Wildcats (3-15, 1-5 A-10) then forced a turnover on Mason's next possession, and sealed up the win with one free throw each from Johnson and Lyon in the last 13 seconds.
