NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Coming off his first career solo shutout, goalkeeper Andrew Kenneson of the Davidson men's soccer team has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
"We are thrilled for Andrew's shutout and award recognition as he's been so faithful in his dedication, work ethic and development four years running," said head coach Matt Spear.
In the Wildcats 2-0 blanking of UNC Asheville, the senior tri-captain finished with four saves, including one on a point blank header that he tipped over the bar and a diving stop on a hard shot hit to his right.
"He also did a good job to control the box, motivate his players, and manage the lead. As Andrew's in-game experiences escalate, the levels of his confidence, leadership and performances will continue to elevate," Spear commented.
