WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Davidson's bid to give Wake Forest its first defeat of the season came up just short as it played well, but saw a Demon Deacon goal in the 21st minute proved to be the difference in a 1-0 defeat Sunday afternoon in women's soccer at Spry Stadium.
Davidson dropped to 4-4 on the season, while Wake Forest remained perfect at 8-0, including 6-0-1 at home.

• This was the 13th meeting dating back to 1994 between both school's women's soccer programs.
• The two teams had not played each other since a matchup in 2006.
• Davidson, which fell to 1-12 all-time in the series, dropped its third 1-0 decision this year.
