DAVIDSON, N.C. — In the midst of playing five of its first seven games at home to open the season, Davidson will play its third game at home by hosting Wofford Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Alumni Stadium for women's soccer. The Wildcats are seeking to keep their 12-game unbeaten streak alive in the series.
The Matchup
Davidson (0-2, 0-0 A-10) will first travel to Gardner-Webb for a Friday evening game at 7 p.m., before coming home to face former Southern Conference-foe Wofford Sunday at Alumni Stadium at 2 p.m.
The All-Time Series/Last Meetings
The Wildcats and the Runnin Bulldogs have played each other five times dating back to 1990. The 'Cats own a perfect 5-0 mark in the series, picking up their fifth win in 2006 with a 4-0 shutout victory on the road.
The series against Wofford has been owned by Davidson, with it leading 16-3-4 since 1995. Davidson is currently riding a 12-game unbeaten streak (8-0-4), keeping it alive with a dramatic 2-1 double-overtime thriller last year in Spartanburg, S.C. A last-second goal (89:53) by senior Dani Johnson in regulation sent the game to overtime and fellow senior Vicky Bruce won it for the 'Cats with the game-winner with 109:59 left on the clock.
Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson is playing five of its first seven games at home where it has collected 60 wins over the last 12 years ... the 'Cats had a tough opening weekend, dropping a pair of 1-0 decision at home to Campbell and Appalachian State ... goalkeeper Alex Carpenter has started the first two games, earning seven saves and holds a 0.67 goals against average ... Scouting the Terriers
Sitting at 0-2 to start the season, Wofford will play UNC Asheville Wednesday evening for its home opener before heading to taking on Davidson Sunday ... the Terriers are coming off a 4-0 defeat to Coastal Carolina last Sunday ... they also dropped a 9-1 decision to Duke Friday night to start their season ... head coach Amy Kiah is in her 18th season at the helm and 20th overall season at Wofford ... the Terriers finished 6-8-4 overall and 3-4-2 in Southern Conference play ... they ended the season on a 4-2-1 streak ... seven starters return ... Hayley Younginer is the top returning goal scorer (6) and had 15 total points as a freshman last year.

Davidson will stay at home to face East Tennessee State, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. It will then travel to Furman for a 2 p.m. tilt over next weekend, Sept. 4
