DAVIDSON, N.C. – For the second game in a row, the Wildcats came up short as they fell 1-0 Sunday to Appalachian State in women's soccer at Alumni Stadium.
Davidson (0-2) dropped a tough 1-0 overtime game Friday night to Campbell in its home and season opener. The Mountaineers moved to 2-0 on the season.
Quick Hits About and From the Game:
• This was the 27th meeting between both teams. Despite the setback, the 'Cats still own a 19-5-3 record in the all-time series.
• Both teams were one-time rivals in the Southern Conference before Davidson moved to the Atlantic 10 and the Mountaineers moved over to the Sun Belt.
• The Mountaineers goal came at the 53:48 mark when Erin Settle gathered in a rebound shot on the far side. ASU's Emmily Cowie was credited with the assist.
• Sophomore Alex Carpenter, making her second straight start, stopped Cowie's shot, but was unable to gather in the save and Settle was there for the rebound.
