Seven Named to Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll

SPARTANGBURG, S.C. – The Davidson College wrestling team placed seven grapplers on the 2015-16 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, announced by the league Tuesday.
The list comprised of seniors Patrick Devlin and Nathaniel Powers, sophomore's William Cooley, Ryan Devlin, Brian Hunter and Dustin Runzo and freshmen Aidan Conroy, and William McClelland.
Patrick Devlin made it for the third time, while Powers and Runzo each earned their second honors. Powers was also selected to his second consecutive SoCon All-Academic team last Monday.
The academic honor roll originated in 1988-89, when SoCon athletic directors established the award as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in varsity sports at member institutions and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher while passing at least 24 hours in two semesters of classes or its equivalent for other academic calendars. Associate members are eligible for the award for the first time this year.
