Davidson Wraps Up Spring Schedule

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson volleyball team will conclude its spring slate with a play day at South Carolina, before hosting Charlotte at Belk Arena.
The Wildcats will first travel to Columbia for a day-long tournament on Saturday, April 9. The play day will feature seven teams including host South Carolina, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, NC State, Winthrop, USC Aiken and USC Upstate.
The 'Cats are set to face Campbell, South Carolina and USC Aiken. Competition will take place at the Carolina Volleyball Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Davidson will conclude its spring schedule April 15 as the 'Cats welcome local rival Charlotte to the friendly confines of Belk Arena. The match is set for 4:30 p.m.
The 49ers have taken two of the last three meetings with the Wildcats dating back to the 2013 season.
A season ago, Davidson posted a 12-16 record, including a much-improved 6-8 mark in conference play. Freshman Sabrina Shepherd was tabbed Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year after averaging 1.06 blocks per set and 2.19 kills per set, while hitting .354 percent on the season.
The Wildcats also recently welcomed Stephanie Zielinski as a new assistant coach for the upcoming 2016 season.
