ORLANDO, Fla. – Despite both Jack Lang and Andy Simmons spending time atop the individual leaderboard, Davidson sits eighth after round one of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship at Grand Cypress Golf Club.
Saturday's second round will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the Par 72, 7,024-yard layout.
Lang was three-under through 16 holes before playing his final two in seven over to shoot 76. Simmons was minus three after seven holes, but suffered at 10 on the Par 5 11th and carded a 77.
Also competing for the Wildcats this weekend are Alex Nianouris (78), David Sargent (78) and freshman Mike Blasey (80).
Davidson, which finished third a year ago, is currently three shots behind La Salle and just 11 out of third place.
Dayton and Richmond are tied for first at 294 (+6), four shots clear of two-time defending champion and favorite VCU (+10).
In addition, the Flyers' Ryan Flick (-1) and Spiders' Matthew Lowe (-1) share the top spot on the individual leaderboard.
