Bazin Earns First A-10 Rookie of the Week Honor

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Max Bazin of the Davidson baseball team has been named A-10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Bazin, a Charlotte, N.C., native, led the Wildcats this past week with a .667 batting average, thanks to two perfect games.
Against Winthrop in mid-week action, Bazin recorded his first perfect game, going 3-for-3 with one RBI and three runs scored that helped lift the Wildcats to a 12-10 come-from-behind victory on Tuesday. Against Fordham on Sunday, the centerfielder went 4-for-4 for a career high despite the loss.
Bazin finished the week with eight hits, one RBI, four runs scored and four walks for a .750 on-base percentage in addition to 2-for-2 in stolen bases. He currently holds a 14-game on-base streak.
This is the first Atlantic 10 weekly honor a Davidson rookie has recorded since joining the conference in 2015 and second weekly honor this season for the 'Cats.
