CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Despite capturing the doubles point, fourth-seeded Davidson suffered a 4-2 setback to Dayton in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship Friday morning at Boar's Head Sports Club.

The Wildcats conclude the season 11-10 overall, while the Flyers advance to the semifinals where they will face top-seeded VCU tomorrow.

After the duo of Zack Zapatero and Artem Khrapko defeated Andy Druffel and Bernardo Sanson 6-4 on court 3, the Wildcats grabbed the early 1-0 lead with a 6-4 victory from J.B. Gough and Shamael Chaudhry at the top spot. Davidson also held a 6-5 advantage at the second doubles' position when the point was decided.

Dayton's Lorenzo Rollhauser tied the match 1-1 when he defeated Jack Riazzi, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6 singles. The Flyers took the lead for good with a top singles victory from Jordan Benjamin over Shamael Chaudhry, 6-4, 6-1.

The Wildcats' lone singles triumph came by way of straight sets from Ricky Saad, 6-2, 7-6 (6), over Simon Jayaram.
