WILMINGTON, N.C. – Senior Alex Nianouris recorded his second straight Top-25 finish to lead the Davidson golf team at the 2016 Seahawk Intercollegiate hosted by UNCW.
The two-day 36-hole event was played on the Par 72 Country Club of Landfall layout.
Coming off a personal-best 15th place showing at the Davidson Invitational, Nianouris (74-72 = 146), who was competing as an individual, carded an even-par/season-low 72 on Monday to finish tied for 21st.
Duke (280-282 = 562), which entered as the overnight leader, captured the team title by seven strokes over the tournament-host Seahawks (286-283 = 569).
After opening with a four-under 68, the Blue Devils' Matt Oshrine (137/-7) carded a final round 69 to claim the individual crown by two swings over Marcus Plunkett of Army.
