DAVIDSON, N.C. — Freshman Megan Scholvinck collected Davidson's first weekly award of the season when she was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office today.
Scholvinck went a combined 4-0 for the Wildcats in helping them to wins at home vs. USC-Upstate and Western Carolina.
Playing at No. 3 singles in both matches, the freshman from Mill Valley, Calif., rolled to wins of 6-0, 6-3 vs. the Spartans and 6-3, 6-3 vs. the Catamounts for her second and third wins of the season.
She teamed with Ava Todd at No. 3 doubles to pick up 6-1 and 6-0 wins in both matches to run their record to 2-2 on the season.
Davidson travels to East Carolina this weekend, Feb. 13.
