Davidson Returns Home to Host Georgetown this Weekend

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson baseball team returns home to host Georgetown for a weekend series starting Friday night at 6 p.m. This is the second of three-straight weekend series the Wildcats host at Wilson Field.
**Saturday's game will not be streamed due to a scheduling conflict.
The Wildcats (2-2) are coming off a mid-week contest at Wake Forest, where they fell 7-4 on Tuesday evening. Despite a 3-for-4 performance from Brian Fortier for Davidson, the Demon Deacons scored four runs in the fifth inning to secure the victory. Connor Gordon started on the mound for the Wildcats and pitched 4.1 innings, allowing four runs off two hits with one strikeout for the loss. Four other Wildcats appeared on the hill, which were all freshmen.
Davidson opened the 2016 season last weekend with a come-from-behind victory over Marist, 4-3, before blanking Buffalo 5-0. The Wildcats fell to Air Force 9-4 for their first loss of the season Sunday.
The Hoyas opened the 2016 season last weekend with a 1-2 showing at the Wake Forest Invitational. Georgetown fell to Wake Forest (3-1) and Virginia Military Institute (4-0) before overcoming a 5-0 deficit to defeat the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC), 6-5, in 10 innings on Sunday.
