KINGSTON, R.I. - Freshman Caroline Yarbrough made her presence felt on the final day of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship winning the 3,000-meter.
The Wildcats concluded the two-day event in 10th place.
Yarbrough and junior Hannah Rieden earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference distinctions following the conclusion of the meet.
"I was very pleased by our showing this year," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field, Jen Straub. "We had two all-conference selections who ran tremendous races. We continue to make improvements in the events in which we are strong, and we look forward to building upon this success as we move forward."
Yarbrough continued her stellar rookie campaign, winning Davidson's sole individual conference crown of the weekend. The Greensboro, N.C., native raced to the top of the podium in the 3,000-meter event, posting a time of 9:55.52. Earlier this season, Yarbrough broke the school record in the event.
A day earlier, Yarbrough raced to a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter.
Rieden contended for the 800-meter crown in record-setting fashion, but was edged by Massachusetts' Heather McLean. Rieden clocked in at 2:12.41, a new program mark, knocking off 1.15 seconds from her preliminary time of 2:13.56. The Austin, Texas, native has now broken the half-mile record three times this season.
Sarah Sears finished 11th in the one-mile. Sears crossed the line in a 5:07.49
In the last event of the meet, Davidson's 4x400 relay team of Tori Long, Brigid Behrens, Ashlyn Gruber and Rieden claimed ninth place, clocking a 4:01.28.
