Records Fall on Day 3 of A-10 Championships

GENEVA, Ohio - The Davidson swimming and diving programs combined for two Atlantic 10 records and five Davidson records on day three of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships Friday evening.
The Davidson women tallied two conference records and three school records, while winning three events.
Elise Lankiewicz continued her flawless showing, winning the 200 freestyle with a NCAA B standard time of 1:46.92 that set an A-10 and school record. The 200 freestyle was the only event that two Wildcats scored in the top-10 as Angie Healy recorded an impressive third-place finish with a time of 1:48.25.
Katy Williams won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.73 which was good for a NCAA B standard. Her preliminary performance set conference and school records as she touched the wall at the 1:01.23 mark.
The women capped off the night with a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The quartet of Kate Moreton, Williams, Maggie Farrell and Lankiewicz put together a time of 3:42.31 that set the final school record of the night for the women.
In addition to helping the 400 medley relay team to a gold, Moreton also recorded a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.67.
On the men's side, Luke Burton recorded the top individual performance for Davidson as he recorded a NCAA B standard time of 47.53 that placed him second. His preliminary time of 47.53 set a Davidson record.
The 400 medley relay team of Burton, Taylor Willenbring, Cameron Bard and Colin MacKay put together a time of 3:16.36 that placed second overall and broke a five-year Davidson record.
Grant Smith, Clay Resweber and Bard also recorded impressive finishes for the 'Cats. Smith placed fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 3:57.25, Resweber took sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39.66 and Bard placed sixth in the 100 butterfly with a 49.45 mark.
Heading into the final day, the Wildcats have tallied five gold medals, four Atlantic 10 records and seven school records.
Action resumes tomorrow morning with the preliminary events beginning at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
