
Davidson Set to Compete at A-10 Championships Feb. 17-20

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming and diving programs are set to compete in the 2016 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, which begins Wednesday, Feb. 17 and concludes Saturday, Feb. 20 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
In their first season in the A-10, the Wildcats made their mark in the conference as the women finished fourth overall and the men took sixth place. Elise Lankiewicz led the way with three individual titles and first-place finishes in three relay events to be named the 2015 Most Outstanding Performer for the women. Luke Burton led the Davidson men with a one individual medal and two school records.
The UMass Minutemen will look for their 16th A-10 Swimming and Diving Championship after capturing the team title at last year's event.
On the women's side, Richmond will look to claim its 14th conference championship in the last 15 years after taking home the title in 2015.
The Championship begins at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 with the trials of the women's 1-meter diving competition, followed by the finals of the men's and women's 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays at 6:30 p.m., along with the finals of the women's 1-meter diving competition.
The Championship continues at 10 a.m. Thursday with preliminaries, followed by the finals at 6:30 p.m. The same schedule will be followed on Friday and Saturday.
