GAFFNEY, S.C. - Davidson picked up two pin victories, but wrestling fell at non-conference Limestone Tuesday night.
With the loss the Wildcats fall to 3-4 in dual meets this season, while Limestone moves to 1-1 in early season action.
Freshman Conor Fenn earned his third fall of the young season at 174-pounds, quickly dispatching of Saint Matt Ostermiller in under a minute. The Cumming, Ga., native will head into the second semester of action at 5-6 overall.
Junior Will Cooley ended the match with the 'Cats second pin of the night, his second of the year. The heavyweight needed 4:13 to pin Cody VandeLinde and improve to 6-4 in 2016. Classmate Dustin Runzo has been in his fair share of battles at 133-pounds, and came away on the winning side of a tight 4-3 decision.
The Wildcats return to the mats after the break when they host George Mason Friday, Jan. 6 back at Belk Arena. First bout with the Patriots is scheduled for 12 p.m.
