Cook Selected to PFL Academic All-Conference Team

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Davidson's John Cook was selected to the Pioneer Football League Academic All-Conference team, announced by the league Wednesday.
Cook, a senior biology student, landed on the All-Academic special teams second team. Players named to the team are voted on by the league sports information directors, must be a starter or key reserve, be at least in their second year of school and on the field, and have maintained a grade point average above 3.30.
The Raleigh, N.C., native played many roles with the 'Cats over his career, but none bigger than his impact on special teams this season. Cook averaged 37.1 yards-per-punt and pinned the opponent inside the 20-yard line 23 times. For his efforts, he was tabbed a PFL All-Conference honorable mention.
Cook is only the second Wildcat to earn this distinction in the last four years – Jeffrey Keil made the second team in 2015.
