DAVIDSON, N.C. — After a two-game road trip to the state of Michigan to start the year, Davidson returns to John M. Belk Arena fot its home opener Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against first-time opponent UCF in women's basketball action.
The Wildcats (0-2) will be playing their second of four new opponents they will face this year, with the first being Western Michigan last Sunday.
Game Promotions
The first 100 Davidson students who come out for the game at the start of it will receive free Under Armour t-shirts. There will also be a halftime contest with prizes included.
OPENING TIP: Quick Hits ...
•Davidson is in its 38th season and has collected 415 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their third year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
•Davidson returns eight letterwinners and three of its five starters from last year's 11-19 team.

•Davidson fell short in its first-ever matchup against Western Michigan with a 76-63 setback.
•The Wildcats, who led at the half (31-30) and most of the third quarter (40-34, 46-44), saw WMU (1-0) use a game-changing 17-0 run to turn a 46-44 deficit into a 61-46 lead and never looked back.
•The game featured seven lead changes and six ties in all.
•Kianna Speight finished with a career-high 16 points, draining a personal-best four three-pointers, to pace Davidson. Kalamazoo native Mackenzie Latt followed with 13 points and four rebounds.
•Rachel Piles had a career day, recording personal bests of nine points and five made free throws to go with seven rebounds (four on offense).
•Chloe Johnson came off the bench to drop in nine points, while freshman Andrea Robinson had eight points.

•Latt was named to the preseason A-10 Third Team, the first Wildcat to garner a preseason honor.
•She had a strong sophomore campaign last season, averaging a personal-best 14.2 points a game.
Record Watch ...
•Latt has or will be ranked in the top-15 all-time in the record books during her third season. The junior has a chance at 1,000 points this year, needing 208 points to reach the milestone.
•The forward already ranks in the top-15 in career scoring average (9th, 12.8), field goal percentage (13th, .456) and blocks (13th, 54), while ranking just outside the top-15 in rebounds, field goals made and steals.
Home Openers ...
•The Wildcats are 17-18 overall in home openers (two of the years results are incomplete).
•They picked up a 64-51 victory against Western Carolina in last year's home opener.
•Davidson is 7-3 the last 10 years in home openers, 4-2 in the past 6 years under coach Savage.

•Latt has scored in double figures in 46 of her 62 career games, including 25 times last year.
•Four of her five career 20-point outings came last year, scoring a career-best 25 vs. Charlotte.

•Against South Alabama, UCF turned up the heat offensively, scoring 26 points in the third quarter to break open the game.
•Junior Fifi Ndour led all scorers with 19 points. Zykira Lewis added 14 points while dishing out four assists.
•Sophomore Kayla Thigpen went 2-for-2 from three to finish with 12 points. Redshirt senior Joslyn Massey just missed a double-double, chipping in 11 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
•With the victory last Sunday, the Knights have now won their home opener for four straight seasons.
•The Knights are off to a 2-0 start for the third time in the last four years.
•The Black and Gold reached the 70-point mark for the third straight season in the opener at CFE Arena.
