DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson wraps up a two-game homestand Thursday night at Alumni Stadium by hosting the Dayton Flyers in an Atlantic 10 women's soccer contest.
The Matchup
Davidson (4-6-1, 0-1-1 A-10) plays its third A-10 contest Thursday by hosting preseason favorite Dayton at 7 p.m. under the lights.
The Wildcats are 3-2-1 at home this year and currently riding a four-game unbeaten win streak (3-0-1), with victories coming against Wofford (3-0), ETSU (4-3), Marist (6-0) and a tie vs. La Salle. It matches the longest unbeaten streak since 2012 when they went 2-0-2 in the ealry stages of the season.

The All-Time Series/Last Meetings
This will be just the fourth meeting between both school's women's soccer programs. Dayton holds a 3-0 advantage after scoring a 4-1 win last year on its hom field.
Weekly Awards
Seeley Yoo: Yoo Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week- After registering a career game in the win vs. ETSU, freshman Seeley Yoo earned the women's soccer Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for games played, Aug. 29-Sept. 4. The midfielder earned Davidson's first-ever A-10 player of the week honor since joining the league for the 2014-15 season. It also marks the first time since 2011 that a Wildcat has been honored with a player of the week award when Becca Fisher was named the SoCon Player of the Week, Oct. 18.
Alex Carpenter: Carpenter Gives 'Cats Second A-10 W. Soccer Player of Week- For the second week in a row, the Davidson women's soccer team picked up an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week with sophomore goalkeeper Alex Carpenter earning the defender of the week for games played, Sept. 5-12. A native from Lee's Summit, Mo., the sophomore had a strong week between the pipes in leading Davidson to a 1-1 record. Carpenter finished with 16 saves, a 0.67 goals against average and earned half a shutout in games vs. Marist and Wake Forest last week.
Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson played to a scoreless draw Sunday against La Salle for its first league point ... the Wildcats are riding a four-game home unbeaten streak (3-0-1), having earned wins against Wofford, ETSU and Marist, while tying La Salle ... Davidson is a combined 5-12-2 in its three years in the A-10 ... freshman Seeley Yoo paces Davidson's offense with seven points on three goals and an assist ... fellow freshman Virginia Jesselson has six points on two goals and two assists ... Of the Wildcats' 16 goals this year, freshmen have scored seven of those goals ... the first-years also have seven of the team's 10 assists, led by Jesselson and Sabine Chandler's two each ... senior Maggie Boyd (2 goals) has a team-high 16 shots ... goalkeeper Alex Carpenter has started all nine of her games and has a team-best 48 saves, while hold a save percentage of .842 ... the sophomore registered her first complete shutout after earning a split shutout in a 6-0 win vs. Marist, Sept. 9 ... Yoo (Rookie) and Carpenter (Defender) have both won A-10 players of the week this year ... head coach Greg Ashton is two wins away from becoming the program's all-time winningest coach ... the 'Cats return 21 letterwinners, including eight starters ... they welcome 10 newcomers to this year's team ... Davidson was picked to finish 13th in their third year in the A-10.
Scouting the Flyers
Dayton enters with a 2-6-2 overall record and is 0-1-1 in league play ... it has tied Saint Louis, 1-1, dropped a 2-1 decision to George Mason ... the Flyers were picked as preseason favorites to win the league for the eighth straight season by the coaches in the A-10 ... they lost Ashley Campbell and Nicole Waters, the A-10's Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Year from last season after both graduated ... Alexis Kiehl paces the Flyers' offense with five goals and 11 points this season ... Libby Leedom is next at seven points (3 goals, 1 assist) ... Kaelyn Johns has started all nine of her games this year, own a 1.44 goals against average and 44 saves ... last season she started every game in goal as a true freshman (79 saves and a 1.65 GAA) ... UD finished last year with a 10-9-1 overall record and an 8-2-0 mark in the Atlantic 10 ... coach Mike Tucker, who is in his 22nd season, is a five-time Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Coach of the Year, the 2009 NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year and finalist for the 2009 National Coach of the Year.
