KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – The Davidson men's cross country team placed 10th of 22 teams at the VertCross Invitational hosted by High Point University Friday afternoon at Beeson Park.
Leading the pack for the 'Cats was sophomore Dylan Carmack. Carmack placed fifth overall, traversing the 8,000 meter course in 25:14.19. The 'Cats tallied 316 points as a team, good for 10th place finish.
Fellow Atlantic 10 member, George Mason, won the event, while Appalachian State senior Chris Anderson took home individual honors with a time of 25:01.81 in a very competitive race at the front.
Davidson junior Michael Schroeder was next across the line for Davidson, finishing in 26:42.08. Classmate Ramsay Ritchie was not far behind, crossing the line in 26:57.5. Sophomore Will Jones (27:02.56) and freshman Alex Hazan (27:31.93) rounded out the Wildcat scoring.
The 'Cats next toe the line at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, Oct. 29 hosted by Richmond at Pole Green Park.
