Freeman Tabbed A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Coming off a personal-best seventh place showing at the Waterville Intercollegiate in Ireland, Michael Freeman of the Davidson men's golf team has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Thursday.
"I am proud of Michael, he is adapting to the rigors of college and golf very well," said head coach Tim Straub. "I have seen a lot of growth in his game and he has a very bright future."
A native of Asheville, N.C., Freeman finished the Wildcats' trip to Waterville, Ireland, with a 36-hole total of 154 (76-78).
Over his last five rounds, Freeman has a 75.6 stroke average, including a season-low 70 in the opening round of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate hosted by NC State.

Davidson will enjoy a three-week break away from tournament action before taking part in the Bridgestone Intercollegiate hosted by UNCG, Oct 30-31.
