DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson volleyball (8-11, 3-2 A-10) will put its three-match win streak on the line this weekend, welcoming Atlantic 10 opponents Saint Louis and (RV) Dayton to Baker Sports Complex for Friday and Sunday matchups (7:00 pm, 1:00 pm).
The Wildcats are coming off an outstanding week in Belk Arena, where they recorded back-to-back thrilling five set wins over league foes George Washington and George Mason, and followed that up with a sweep of cross-county rival Charlotte on Tuesday. In those three matches, the trio of senior captain Emily Franklin, junior Kelly Friers, and sophomore Sabrina Shepherd have combined for 112 kills and 47 blocks.
With 219 total net rejections, Davidson is the third-best team in the country in terms of blocking. Led by Franklin's 109 and Shepherd's 64, the squad averages 2.84 blocks per set. Franklin is ranked fourth the nation with 109 total blocks, 20th in blocks per set (1.42) and currently reigns as the A-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week after her performances against GW and Mason.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats dominated against the 49ers, taking three consecutive sets for their third sweep of the year. Friers registered 13 kills to lead the offense, while sophomore Katharine Franz set new career-highs in both kills (nine) and hitting percentage (.438), and senior captain Mikayla Derochie recorded her 12th double-double of the season (43 assists, 13 digs).
SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS
Saint Louis enters the weekend with an 8-12 overall record, but boast the same league mark as the 'Cats at 3-2. Leading the charge for the Billikens is senior outside hitter Danielle Rygelski, a three-time A-10 Player of the Week, and one of three players in the NCAA with multiple 30-kill performances. The St. Charles, Mo., native leads the country in kills (429) and kills per set (5.88). Saint Louis has just one other player with 100 kills or more ( Taylor Paulson, 128), and rely on Camilla Rivas (409 assists) for most of their setting. The Billikens are coming off a 3-1 loss to Rhode Island last Sunday, and have only played three five-set matches all year.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers bare a perfect 5-0 in conference play, and have only lost one match all season (Loyola Marymount 3-0). In addition to leading the nation in winning percentage (.947), Dayton is also ranked fifth in the country with 14.6 kills per set. Junior Jessica Sloan leads the team with 234 kills and is closely followed by junior Amber Erhanon at 190, while reigning Co-Defensive Player of the Week sophomore Kendyll Brown tops the team with 63 blocks. Junior Jane Emmenecker holds a team and league-high 648 assists.
