LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Led by senior Will Brewster, Davidson men's cross country placed 10th at the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday.
Brewster placed 17th in a highly competitive field, traversing the 8k course in 24:25.69. Classmate Walker Mogen made his 2016 8k debut, crossing the line in 24:53.97. Sophomore Dylan Carmack snuck in under the 25 minute mark, turning in a 24:59.57 performance.
"Our top three ran well today. Will Brewster looked good up front and it was a very solid 8k season opener for Walker Mogen," said head coach Renny Waldron.
Freshman Sam Thomas was fourth for the squad in 25:39.9, while Ramsay Ritchie was the final Wildcat scorer in 26:04.63.
"We have a lot of work to do over the next month and we'll need to close the gap significantly between our top three and four and five runners, but the guys know what they have to do and we have four weeks to get it right before the A-10 Championship," said Waldron.
The Wildcats return to the start line Friday, Oct. 14 at the Wake Forest Invite.
