Swimming & Diving Splits At UNC Wilmington

RESULTS
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming and diving program completed its regular-season with a dual meet at UNC Wilmington Saturday afternoon. The Davidson women defeated the Seahawks, 162-137, while the men fell to UNCW, 165-128.
The women won 10 events, including four gold medals from Elise Lankiewicz. The junior won the 1000 freestyle (10:28.24), 200 butterfly (2:05.93) and the 500 freestyle (5:03.24), while helping the 400 medley relay squad to a first-place finish with a time of 3:52.28.
Anabelle Durham, Katy Williams and Emily Yang joined Lankiewicz in the first winning relay.
Kassie Shannon, Erica Clancy, Lauren Malachowski and Maggie Farrell helped the Wildcats sweep the relay portion, putting together a time of 1:37.40 to win the 200 freestyle relay to complete the day.
Despite the loss, the Davidson men tallied seven gold medals. Luke Burton and Cameron Bard led the way with two first-place finishes. Burton swept the backstroke events, while Bard won the 50 and 100 freestyle events.
Taylor Willenbring, Ari Snyder and Colin MacKay joined Bard in the 200 freestyle relay, who capped off the afternoon with a time of 1:25.01 to win the race.
Clay Resweber and Riley League also picked up golds, as Resweber took the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.68 and League finished with a time of 1:53.12 in the 200 butterfly.
The Wildcats will use the next month to train for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held on Feb. 17-20 in Geneva, Ohio.
