Men’s Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Highlighted by four home dates, the Davidson men's soccer team recently announced their 2016 spring schedule.
"The spring is an important opportunity for the underclassmen to improve individually and to build a new group identity," said head coach Matt Spear. "Our current focus is on conditioning, attitude, and technical sharpness. Then we will build in the tactical, formation, set pieces and other 11v11 components. The goal is a strong, competitive, organized, and confident group."
The Wildcats' will kick-off their seven-match slate on Feb. 20 with a 4 p.m. contest against Pfeiffer at Alumni Stadium.
Following its meeting with the 2015 undefeated NCAA Division II National Champs, Davidson will host Charlotte Independence of the United Soccer League (pro) on March 13.
On March 19, the Wildcats will travel to Greenville, S.C. for a 2 p.m. contest against former Southern Conference foe Furman, before entertaining cross-county rival Charlotte on April 2.
Seven days later, Davidson will play a pair of 70-minute contests in Rock Hill, S.C., against Gardner-Webb (10:15 a.m.) and College of Charleston (3 p.m.).
Davidson will conclude the spring with its annual Alumni Match on 1992 Team Field, April 15 at 6 p.m.
"The matches are where the players are measured in their fitness, growth, composure, play-making and on field connections. Each match day provides a unique opportunity, and we aim to fight and to elevate as these learning moments and momentum are telling for next fall."
