DAVIDSON, N.C – Despite taking a game-high 19 shots and dominating the second half, the Wildcats were only able to find the back of the net once as it fell 2-1 to Furman Sunday afternoon in women's soccer at Alumni Stadium.

The Wildcats dropped to 1-3 through its first four games, while the Paladins won their second straight to move to 4-2 on the year.

• Both teams were playing each other for the 33rd time since first meeting in 1994.
• It was the first time meeting each other since 2013, the Wildcats final year in the Southern Conference.
• Davidson held a commanding 19-8 advantage in shots and took five corner kicks to Furman's four.
• The 'Cats' defense held Furman without a single shot in the second half, while getting eight of their own.
• Senior defender Dani Johnson tallied her first goal of the season, and seventh of her career, to get Davidson on the board first in the 11th minute.

The Wildcats will next face a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference teams. They will first travel to No. 10 Virginia Tech on Thursday, Sept. 10 for a 7:30 p.m. game and then return home for the weekend to take on N.C. State, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m.
