BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Davidson women's soccer team battled No. 12 Virginia Tech Thursday night and did not back down from the nationally ranked team before time ran out in falling in the end 2-1 at Thompson Field.
The Wildcats dropped to 1-4 on the season, while the Hokies remained unbeaten at 7-0-1.

• This was the second straight year the two teams were meeting each other.
• It was Davidson's first time in program history playing a ranked opponent in back-to-back seasons, having faced this same Virginia Tech team a year ago at Alumni Stadium when it was ranked fifth in the nation.
• The Wildcats fell to 4-5-1 in the all-time series vs. the Hokies.
• It was a scoreless draw after the first half as Davidson held Virginia Tech without a first-half goal for the third time this year.
