About Davidson
Davidson will benefit from experience and leadership this season as the 'Cats returns 18 student-athletes from the 2014 roster. Olivia Menden, Sarah Sears and Hayden Bates were three of Davidson's top five finishers from its inaugural appearance at the A-10 conference championship race a season ago. In addition to a strong returning contingent, Davidson welcomes four newcomers in Abby Fry, Sophia Mills, Laney O'Shea and Caroline Yarbrough.
Last Time Out
Behind freshman Caroline Yarbrough and sophomore Allison Cheeseman, Davidson raced to a second-place finish at the Richmond Invitational Sept. 5. Running with the front of the pack throughout the race, Yarbrough culminated a strong day with a second-place showing, finishing the two-mile race with a time of 11:16.4. Cheeseman was next through the finishing shoot, with a time of 11:23.6 to earn fifth place.
Sierra Pontheir and Sarah Sears captured 10th and 11th place with times just two seconds apart, led by Ponthier at 11:41.7. Junior Hayden Bates crossed the line in 11:52.2 to rank 15th overall.
