Wildcats Picked To Finish Fourth In A-10

A-10 RELEASE

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's cross country team was selected to finish fourth out of 14 teams in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, the league announced Wednesday.

Davidson returns three of its five top finishers from its inaugural appearance where the Wildcats raced to a fifth-place finish at the A-10 Championship a year ago.

Senior Olivia Menden covered the course in 18:44.1 to place 30th, while sophomore Sarah Sears capped her rookie campaign with a 33^rd-place finish with a time off 18:49.8. Senior Hayden Bates also had a strong showing at the championship with a time of 19:01.4 to place 44th overall.

The trio went on to help the Wildcats finish 15th at the 2014 Southeast Regional Meet, the best finish for Davidson at the event in recent seasons.

Davidson begins its 2015 campaign at the Richmond Invite on Saturday, Sept. 5.
