
Erin Osment Receives USTFCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Davidson senior distance runner Erin Osment received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for her combined efforts in competition and in the classroom.
Osment graduated from Davidson in May with a cumulative GPA of 3.357 and a degree in history.
The Atlanta, Ga., native concluded her impressive senior campaign with a 14th-place finish in the 10,000-meter event, earning second-team All-America status, at the 2015 NCAA Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
In front of 10,015 fans, Osment clocked a 34:14.25 to finish 14th out of 24 runners in the event. Osment's time was not only a career-best, but also set a new Davidson record. The Atlanta, Ga., native has now set and broke her program record in the event five times this year.
Osment, who became just the third Davidson woman to qualify for the NCAA track championships, concludes a stellar four-year career with a pair of Atlantic 10 titles and her named etched throughout the Davidson record book.
838 women from 207 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
