
Davidson Hands Out 2014-15 Athletic Awards

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College has announced its award winners for the 2014-15 athletic season, including the Tommy Peters Award (senior wrestler Scott Patrick- two-time NCAA Qualifier and the only wrestler in program history to win a pair of matches at the NCAA Championships) and the Rebecca A. Stimson Award (senior women's swimmer Meredith Nakano- earned three top-five finishes at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships and holds four relay school records in addition to two Atlantic 10 Championship records), honoring the college's top male and female athletes.
In recognition of their outstanding dedication and contribution to intercollegiate athletics, senior forward Ali Mackay earned the Thomas D. Sparrow Award, while former Southern Conference Freshman of the Year Becca Fisher of the women's soccer team received the Susan K. Roberts Award. Peyton Aldridge, an A-10 All-Rookie Team member and a finalist for the 2015 Kyle Macy National Freshman of the Year award , was recognized with the Helen DeVane Carnegie Award, presented to Davidson's most outstanding freshman athlete.
