
Osment Most Outstanding Performer on Day Two of A-10 Championship

FAIRFAX, Va. – Erin Osment was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer after earning two individual titles at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championship Sunday at George Mason.
"This weekend's meet showed that we can really compete in the A-10," said Director of Track and Field Jen Straub. "I am so proud of Erin and all that she has accomplished. To win two titles and earn Most Outstanding Performer speaks volumes about her work ethic and dedication."
Osment, who is rewriting the Davidson record book this season, claimed her second A-10 individual title in the 5,000-meter event in record-breaking fashion. Osment posted a time of 16:32.86 to place first and break her previous record of 16:50.19.
Yesterday, Osment took the lengthy 10,000-meter event with a new program mark of 34:36.74. The Atlanta, Ga., native now holds the school record in the indoor 3K and 5K and the outdoor 3K, 5K and 10K.
In the 800-meters Hannah Rieden crossed in 2:12.07 to place fifth. In the preliminaries, Rieden matched the program record with a time of 2:11.62 to advance to the finals.
Olivia Menden placed seventh in the 1,500-meter event. Menden clocked a 4:33.35.
The Wildcats closed out their inaugural appearance at the conference championships with a fourth place finish in the 4x800 relay. The Davidson foursome of Rieden, Ashlyn Gruber, Menden and Brigid Behrens posted a time of 8:50.79, to set a new program mark in the event.
Hayden Bates (17:57.03) and Allison Cheeseman (18:00.17) finished 12th and 13th, respectively in the 5,000.
Davidson finished 10th out of the conference's 13 teams with 43 total team points.
Davidson will head to the Aggie Last Chance Meet hosted by North Carolina A&T May 17.
