FAIRFAX, Va. – Continuing her stellar senior campaign, Erin Osment won the 10,000-meter event in record-breaking fashion as the Davidson women's track and field team wrapped up day one of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship at George Mason Stadium.
Osment claimed her first Atlantic 10 individual crown as the senior raced to the top of the podium. The Atlanta, Ga., native set a new mark with a time of 34:36.74.
Osment's individual crown marks the first in program history as the Wildcats joined the A-10 after moving from the Southern Conference in July 2014.
"I am so proud of Erin today," said Director of Track & Field Jen Straub. "Erin has had a tremendous senior season, so to cap it off with an individual conference title is just a special thing."
Hannah Rieden matched the program record in the preliminaries of the 800-meter event. Rieden crossed in 2:11.62 to rank fourth. She will advance to the finals set for tomorrow.
In the pole vault, Molly Marshall cleared 11-5.75 (3.50 meters) to take 10th in the pole vault, while Megan Comstock finished in 12th after clearing 10-6 (3.20 meters).
Davidson will return to the track for the final day of A-10 Championships at 10:30 a.m.
