
Four Wildcats Earn A-10 All-Conference Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – In its first year in the Atlantic 10, the Davidson baseball team placed four Wildcats on All-Conference teams, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
First baseman David Daniels and outfielder Lee Miller were named first team, second baseman Sam Foy earned second team honors and shortstop Alec Acosta was placed on the All-Rookie squad.
Daniels is in the top five in several A-10 categories, highlighted by slugging percentage (.623), on base percentage (.454), homeruns (11), double plays (35) and putouts (430).
The first baseman set career highs this season with a .355 batting average, 40 RBI and 11 homeruns earning his second straight all-league nod.
Leading the squad offensively with a .368 batting average, Miller is ranked in the top 10 in seven conference categories, including being ranked third in batting average, doubles (19) and RBI (51).
Miller's 51 RBI this season is a career high along with his 68 hits. The junior has recorded 21 multi-hit performances this season for his second-straight year with a conference honor.
Foy, a 2013 SoCon All-Freshman selection, leads the league with 83 assists in conference games at second base. The junior is having his best year yet, being ranked third on the team with a .330 batting average, 32 runs scored, 64 hits and 29 RBI.
Acosta has started all 46 games at shortstop this season, while holding a .299 batting average with 28 runs scored, 58 hits and 33 RBI. Acosta has tallied 18 multi-hit performances and eight multiple RBI games.
The No. 4-seeded Wildcats start its first-ever search for an A-10 title Wednesday, May 20 against No. 5-seed VCU at 5 p.m. at Barcroft Park.
