‘Cats Set For Home-And-Home Series Against Wake Forest

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson baseball team is set to trade home contests with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons starting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Gene Hooks Field at the Wake Forest Ball Park. The Wildcats will then return to Wilson Field Wednesday to host the Demon Deacons at 6 p.m.
SERIES: 126th Meeting – Wake Forest leads, 95-28-2.

THE SERIES
• This is the 126th meeting between the two teams and Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 95-28-2, which dates back to 1905.
• Davidson and the Demon Deacons last met a year ago where the two teams split 1-1. The Wildcats last win came in the series on March 19, 2014 when they defeated Wake Forest, 7-6 at Wilson Field.
• Prior to 2014, the regional foes hadn't met since the 2009 season.
THE 'CATS
• The Wildcats enter the home-and-home series 15-15 overall and 5-7 in the A-10 after dropping an A-10 series at Fordham this past weekend.
• Outfielder Lee Miller leads the squad with a .350 batting average with 17 runs, 41 hits and 27 RBI in 117 at bats. Second baseman Sam Foy and first baseman David Daniels follow with a .296 batting average.
• On the mound, RHP Clark Beeker leads the team with a 4.30 ERA, allowing 69 hits, 44 runs and has 53 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched. Beeker pitched eight innings this past Friday for the lone Wildcat win at Fordham over the weekend.
• The Wildcats return home Wednesday after its longest road trip of the season, a nine-game road swing spanning over 16 days.
THE DEMON DEACONS
• The Demon Deacons enter the home-and-home series 22-16 overall and 9-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Wake Forest is coming off a 1-2 weekend at Pittsburgh.
• Infielder Will Craig leads the squad with a .407 batting average with 44 runs, 57 hits and 54 RBI in 140 at bats. Seven other Demon Deacons are batting over .300.
• RHP Parker Dunshee leads the squad with a 2.54 ERA, allowing 36 hits, 17 runs and has 51 strikeouts in 46.0 innings pitched with a record of 5-0. RHP Paul Kirkpatrick is set to start Tuesday and is 2-2 on the season.
LAST TIME OUT
• Davidson fell to Fordham, 6-2, in the final game of the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Houlihan Park for the Rams second win of the series.
• Fordham scored the first five runs on four hits in the first four innings, which eventually secured the contest. The Wildcats outhit Fordham, 7-5, but committed two errors.
• Right fielder Mark Donadio went 4-for-4 for the second-straight day and picked up two RBI to lead both teams. Right fielder Lee Miller and center fielder Ty Middlebrooks both picked up homeruns to lead Davidson.
• RHP Ben Greenberg pitched all nine innings for the Rams and held the 'Cats to just two runs off seven hits with four strikeouts. Four Wildcats threw for Davidson with RHP and designated hitter Ryan Lowe starting the first four innings, allowing five runs off four hits with two strikeouts for the loss.
