KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Ralph Blasey carded rounds of 72 and 73 to lead the Davidson golf team on day one of the 2015 Irish Creek Collegiate hosted by the Wildcats and their cross-county rival Charlotte.
The two-day 54-hole event is being played on the Par 71, 7,099-yard Irish Creek layout.
In addition to the co-hosts, the 15-team field features Akron, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, McNeese State, UNCG, UNCW, North Florida, Richmond, South Florida, Tulsa and VCU.
As a team, Davidson (298-305=603) recorded 25 birdies and four eagles on the day.
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
