DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson volleyball team will compete four times, including a home tournament during the spring, head coach Chris Willis announced Wednesday.
"The spring season gives us the opportunity to focus on the process of getting better in specific aspects of the game," said Willis. "It also gives all our players game-time experience against high level teams."
The Wildcats are set to the hit the hardwood for the 2015 spring schedule beginning March 11 with a short trip to neighboring foe Charlotte. Davidson will face off with Georgia at 6 p.m. before taking on the 49ers at 8 p.m.
The Wildcats will then travel to High Point for an all-day tournament March 21, before returning to the friendly confines of John M. Belk Arena April 11 to host a tournament.
Davidson will wrap up it's a spring slate with a 1 p.m. match at Wingate, April 19.
"The four dates we've chosen this spring will allow us to accomplish both of these goals against great competition, added Willis. "With six freshmen, two sophomores, and a junior, I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of improvement, both mentally and physically. We began preparing for our 2015 fall season in November of 2014. These spring competitions will give us some benchmarks of our progress, with the end-goal of great performances in seven months."
