Eckstein Climbs Leaderboard at 2015 Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – After opening with a 72, Davidson's Todd Eckstein fired a one-under 71 to climb into a tie for seventh on day two of the 2015 Furman Intercollegiate Saturday afternoon.
The 54-hole/three-day event is being played on the Par 72, 6,994-yard Furman University Golf Course layout.
Following a 37 on his opening nine, Eckstein was steady on his inward side recording seven pars and a pair of birdies to post his fourth sub-par round of the season.
Spencer Papciak, who also carded an even-par 72 yesterday, continued his impressive play with a 73 to remain in a tie for 20th as an individual competitor for the Wildcats.
Alex Nianouris (73-78=151/T-57), David Sargent (76-76=152/T-63), Andy Simmons (79-76=155/T-86) and Ralph Blasey (79-78=157/T-94) rounded out the starting five for Davidson (300-301=601), which will enter the final round seven strokes out of the Top-10.
Georgia State (290-280=570) tallied an 8-under 280 to grab the top spot on the team leaderboard by five strokes over USC Aiken (284-291=575).
J.T. Poston (136/-8) of Western Carolina holds the individual lead by a swing over Georgia State's J.J. Grey (137/-7).
Tomorrow's third and final round will begin with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start.
