Strong Performances on Day One of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Davidson men and women's track and field program had a strong showing on the first day of the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State, Friday.
Senior Erin Osment placed 27th in the 5,000m run. Osment clocked a 17:17.88. Freshman Allison Cheeseman posted a time of 17:44.35.
In the 1,500-meter run, freshman Sarah Sears crossed the line in 4:39.45 to finish 52nd. Olivia Menden wasn't far behind as the junior finished in 4:40.55 to rank 59th.
In the lengthy 10,000 meter event, Whitner Chase crossed the line in 30:11.84 to finish 25th, while Daniel Samet posted a time of 30:23.12.
On the men's side, Walker Mogen clocked a time of 14:30.21 in the 5,000m event. The junior finished 28th.
In the 1,500 meter event, Sal del Giudice crossed the line in 3:56.00.
The Wildcats return to the track for day two of the Raleigh Relays tomorrow. The first field event will start at 10 a.m. while the first running event is set for 11 a.m.
