Will Windham Joins Davidson Football Staff

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson College head football coach Paul Nichols announced the hiring of former Penn State Nittany Lion Will Windham as the Wildcats' defensive line coach, Wednesday.
"We are excited to have Will Windham join our staff," commented Nichols. "He and his wife Whitney will make a tremendous addition to the Davidson College community. Will has worked with some of the best defensive minds in college football today and we look forward to him mentoring our defensive front."
Windham joins the Wildcat staff after spending this past season with the Nittany Lions as a graduate assistant following a three-year graduate stint at Mississippi State.
At Penn State, Windham assisted defensive coordinator Bob Shoop and defensive line coach Sean Spencer. The Nittany Lions led the Big 10 in scoring defense, holding its opponents to 27 touchdowns, 18 field goals and 18.6 yards per game last season.
Prior to Penn State, Windham spent three seasons with his alma mater, Mississippi State, as a graduate assistant working with the defensive line. During his time with the Bulldogs, Windham helped the squad to 2011 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and 2013 Liberty Bowl Championships.
Windham started his coaching career at Saint Stanislaus College Prep School in Bay St. Louis, Miss., as the SSC's defensive line coach from 2009-11. Windham helped the Rocks to a Class 4A State Championship in 2009 and coached Mississippi All-Star Taylor Thompson in 2010.
A 2007 graduate of Mississippi State, Windham received a B.S. in secondary education and later received his Master of Science degree in teaching and coaching in 2012 at MSU.
