Day 1 of A-10 Championships Conclude With ‘Cats in Fourth

Day 1 Results
GENEVA, Ohio – The Davidson men's swimming and diving team enjoyed a successful day in the pool on the first day of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships.
Through five events, Davidson sits in fourth place with 56 points. George Mason is in third with 62 team points, while Massachusetts and St. Bonaventure are tied for first with 74 points each. Behind Davidson, sits George Washington (54), La Salle (50), Fordham (48) and Saint Louis (32) to round out the conference.
Davidson placed fourth in the 200-medley relay to kick the night off. Luke Burton, Spencer Gill, Cameron Bard and Grant Smith Jr. led the Davidson quartet to a 1:30.40 finish.. The top-four teams were separated by a meager 1.54 seconds in the lightning-quick event.
To cap off the night, Brandon Kegley, Cole Riggan, Grant Smith Jr. and Clay Resweber finished sixth in the 800-freestlye relay, clocking in at 6:39.23.
The Wildcats return to the pool Friday at 10 a.m. to begin Session 3 on Day 2 at Spire Institute.
