The season-opening win snapped a five-game losing streak in season openers for Davidson, which had its second-straight 20-plus goal outing against Kennesaw State. The Wildcats won a 22-4 game last year vs. KSU.
Annie Brockett scored four goals and Morgan Burch added three, both career highs for the sophomores.

Christine Molinari scored her first collegiate goal, and Nicole Pettiglio, who had an assist, and Jean Atkinson rounded out the scoring with a goal each. Kendall Thielemann assisted on the 'Cats' last goal for her first career helper.
It was all Davidson from the start as the duo of Sexton and Cooke helped the 'Cats open up an 8-0 lead. Sexton scored four of the goals, while Cooke assisted on three of them, including two of Sexton's, and added a goal of her own.
The lead was pushed to 10 (12-2) on Rademacher's 63rd career goal with 1:38 left in the half, and the pair of Sexton and Cooke topped off their outstanding first half by hooking up for the third time right before the horn to make it 13-3 at the half.
Goalie Katy Boyle and the defense took care of the rest in the second half, holding the Owls (0-4) to just one goal. Boyle finished the game with eight saves to go with a career-best six groundballs.
Davidson as a team forced six of Kennesaw State's 21 turnovers, with Holly Thomas earning a career-high tying two of those. The Wildcats also scooped up 26 groundballs, fired off 36 shots and went 18-for-20 on clear attempts.
Paige Farrar and Rachel Hianik each saw their first collegiate action. Farrar earned two groundballs, a draw control and a caused turnover, while Hianik started, and earned a groundball and forced a turnover.
Kennesaw State's Taylor McGhee scored two of the Owls' four goals and goalie Allison Senft finished with seven saves. The Owls held a 16-10 advantage in draw controls.
