BRONX, N.Y.  — The Davidson men's tennis team made history Saturday afternoon when it scored the program's first-ever Atlantic 10 win with a 4-0 decision on the road against Fordham.

Davidson evened its overall record to 3-3 with its second straight win, while Fordham fell to 2-5.

"The team has been working hard and it's starting to pay off," said head coach Drew Barrett. "We still have a long road ahead, but it's great to get our first A-10 win."

The quartet of Shamael Chaudhry, Artem Khrapko, J.B. Gough and Ricky Saad wrapped up the first A-10 triumph for the Wildcats with singles wins at the top four spots.  All four 'Cats keep their winning streaks alive as well.

Chaudhry, who was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Wednesday, cruised to his fifth win in a row with an easy 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 1. Fellow freshman Artem Khrapko ran his record to 4-2 with his fourth straight victory, a 6-4, 6-2 decision at No. 2.

Playing No. 3 and 4 positions were Gough and Saad. The sophomore duo earned 7-5, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-4 wins, respectively, to improve to 4-2 and 3-0 on the season. They both won their third single matches in a row.

Davidson looks to wrap up a busy weekend by going perfect with a match at Saint Francis Sunday at 4 p.m.
