Golf Adds Two During Signing Period

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Michael Freeman (Asheville, N.C./Christ School) and Will Simmons (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Davidson men's golf team in 2016-17, as announced by head coach Tim Straub Monday.
"I am very excited to have Michael and Will join our team next fall," said Straub. "Both of them are tremendous scholar-athletes, and should be great additions to our team and the Davidson community. Michael played very well this past summer, and climbed the state and national rankings. Will played very well last spring, but struggled with an injury this past summer, but is back healthy now and looking to rebound this spring."

Davidson will enjoy a four-month break from competitive action before returning to the course, Feb. 22-23, for its spring opener at the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championship in Weston, Fla.
