Strong Second Half Lifts Fordham over Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Fordham scored three second-half goals to defeat Davidson, 3-0, in Atlantic 10 men's soccer action Wednesday evening at Alumni Stadium.
The Wildcats fall to 3-5-3 overall and 0-2-0 in league play, while the Rams win their second straight improving to 4-4-3 and 2-0-0.
After just four combined shots in the opening half, each team attempted 10 shots in the final period.
Ryan Cupolo scored the eventual game-winner in the 58th minute off a centering pass from Kyle Bitterman.
Not long after Andrew Hickey gave the Rams a 2-0 advantage with a blast from about 35-yards out that caromed in off the right post, Jannik Loebe put the game out of reach less than four minutes later.
Shane Macnamara and Maxi Pragnell led the Wildcats with four shots each.
Fordham finished with a 13-11 edge in shots, while Davidson held a 5-3 margin in corners.
Rashid Nuhu recorded a game-high five saves for the Rams en route to his fourth shutout of the season.
