NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Junior Elise Lankiewicz and freshman Jake Perron of the Davidson swimming and diving program have earned Atlantic 10 swimming and diving weekly honors, the league announced Tuesday.
Lankiewicz was named the women's performer of the week, while Perron earned the men's rookie of the week honor after the season-opening weekend at the All-NC Invitational.
Lankiewicz led the Davidson women to a third-place finish out of 11 teams this past weekend. The junior placed in the top seven in all four individual events, while helping all four relay teams finish in the top five. The junior posted three third-place finishes, including coming in just .38 second from first place in the 200 freestyle.
Overall, Lankiewicz tallied 317 points for the Wildcats.
At his first collegiate meet, Perron earned the most points for the rookies as he tallied 95 points overall. The freshman posted two top-15 finishes, including coming in 14th in the 500 freestyle and 100 freestyle. He also swam the first leg of the 400 freestyle relay that finished fourth.
The Wildcat men finished third out of eight teams this past weekend.
Davidson will jump back in the pool for a two-day event starting Friday, Oct. 16 for a A-10 quad-meet at the University of Richmond. Start time is set for 4:30 p.m. Friday.
