
Davidson Set to Host Marshall, Old Dominion Friday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming and diving programs continue at home this weekend when they host the Old Dominion men and women and Marshall's women's squad for a two-day meet starting Friday at 6 p.m.

The Wildcats are coming off an impressive weekend, sweeping the Georgetown Hoyas last Saturday. The women defeated Georgetown, 166-132, while the men recorded a 171-127 victory.
Junior Elise Lankiewicz helped the women to nine event titles as she racked in four of her own. She was victorious in the 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle, and helped the 400 freestyle relay team to gold. The junior has won seven individual events for the Wildcats this season.
Freshman Emily Yang won her second event of the season as she took the 200 butterfly and completed the event with a second-place finish in the 100 IM.
Senior Grant Smith led the Davidson men, as he was part of four event titles. Smith swept the breaststroke events, while helping the 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams to first-place finishes.
Senior Luke Burton and sophomore Clay Resweber followed Smith with three titles each. Burton won both backstroke events and also helped the 200 medley relay team to gold, while Resweber took the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle and was also on the victorious 400 freestyle relay squad.
The men finished the day with 12 event titles against the Hoyas.
